Job’s Purpose
As a Quality Assurance Manager you report to senior management and Ahold Delhaize Group, manage the team of Quality Assurance Department, and oversee smooth operation of daily activities. You focus to ensure products’ quality and safety across our supply chain (Quality Cycle) and make sure that our operations and our products meet national and international standards.

What you will focus on
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and manage associates’ projects and minds for their proper information and motivation, to ensure the continuous improvement of their performance, company’s goals achievement and labor relations enhancement
- Review existing procedures and policies and make suggestions for changes
- Ensure regular monitoring of stores and warehouses on products’ quality assurance, proceeding with the necessary controls and informing all Departments for possible deviations and future actions
- Act as an internal consultant and a liaison among respective departments, providing necessary information – education regarding continuous improvement of product’s quality
- Creates and cultivates effective relation and open channels of communication with relevant authorities
- Shape and implement sustainability policies and monitor performance (Policies include: animal welfare, social compliance, biodiversity, plastic reduction, critical commodities: seafood, cocoa, palm oil, soy, tea, wood fibers)
- Develop appropriate quality performance indicators, based on both European and global standards, while sets up and maintains controls for the documented procedures
- Define qualitative standards of private labels products and in cooperation with Senior Category Managers and Buying Directors, participates in new products’ development, by evaluating suppliers based on quality standards set by both the company and by the existing legislation
- Conduct site visits to suppliers’ production facilities (with which AB collaborates), to assess their infrastructures, production processes and practices
- Communicate with Ahold Delhaize group and other OpCos of Group to shape, implement and monitor product safety and sustainability policies in AB. Also engage with senior management to this direction and create roadmaps for meeting the targets
- Prepare department’s budget, monitors it throughout the year, while implements divergence controls and suggests ways to address them
What you have
- Degree in Food Science Technology, Chemistry or relevant. Alternatively, a Bachelor followed by a Food Technology Master Degree
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Quality Management within Food industry or consulting firm
- Demonstrated skills in quality management systems (e.g. ISO 22000, ISO 9001, BRC, IFS, HACCP System ELOT 1416)
- Excellent communication and written skills in English
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of Sustainability and CSR strategic approaches and advisory tools is strongly desired
